The Hypopressive® training system is a core restoration and maintenance program that takes a full body approach to core and pelvic health. This postural and respiratory technique can safely and effectively reprogram and optimize core function.
“Namchi is a gifted teacher. The personalized instruction in Hypopressives that I have received have changed my relationship to my core and have been extremely helpful in elevating my pelvic floor. Namchi has been patient, kind, perceptive and encouraging throughout. Combined with her extensive and ongoing training, plus her lifelong passion for how the body moves and works, she is able to give clear, personalized instruction. Hypopressives have been one of the most helpful things that I have had the privilege of learning.” – Doone, massage therapist
The term ‘HYPOpressive’ refers to a decrease or reduction in pressure. This form of exercise reduces pressure to the thoracic, abdominal and pelvic cavities, where traditional exercises, abdominal training, gravity, as well as the majority of our daily activities are HYPERpressive – they increase intra-abdominal pressure.
People with continence issues or pelvic organ prolapse can do Hypopressive® routines without compromising stability and safety. Many modifications are available to meet each person where they are. Each exercise involves assuming a posture, initiating a strategic breathing pattern, followed by an apnea (breath hold).

What is Hypopressive® Fitness?
Hypopressive® exercise was originally created by Marcel Caufriez as a breathing technique to be used in a clinical setting to help post-natal women prevent and/or recover from pelvic floor dysfunction such as incontinence or prolapse.
Tamara Rial and Piti Pinsach, from Spain, while working along side Marcel, recognized the need to create a fitness program that would help in the prevention as well as restoration of pelvic health, beyond the clinical setting. This Hypopressive® technique has become so much more than just a technique limited to those with pelvic floor dysfunction.
Hypopressive® Training has evolved into a fitness program that is being used by both men and women of all ages who are seeking to not only restore their pelvic health but to train the true function of their core.
We have Trista Zinn to thank for bringing Hypopressives® to Canada and energetically spreading her knowledge of this work.
Hypopressives® are done laying down, sitting, kneeling & standing.
Hypopressive® Training Restores Respiratory patterns
The Respiratory muscles are used to help create a vacuum effect resulting in a decrease of pressure within the thoracic, abdominal and pelvic cavities.
Thank you Hypopressives® Canada and Trista Zinn.
