GYROKINESIS® Group Classes & Trainings
Gyrokinesis Spring Session
People from all walks of life take GYROKINESIS® classes, including accomplished athletes, fitness enthusiasts, senior citizens and people recovering from an injury or dealing with a disability.
By the end of a Gyrokinesis session, one's entire system is awakened and brought into greater balance.
Focus on the breath stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system resulting in a sense of calm, well-being and mental clarity.
The Gyrokinesis Method is practiced on a mat and chair without equipment.
Without the feedback and guidance of equipment, participants in a Gyrokinesis class are more dependent on their own proprioception to explore movement sequences.
Class Descriptions:
Gyrokinesis Express: A 45-minute Gyrokinesis Experience focusing on the spinal motions series seated on the stool. In this class we are working on moving the spine through all it’s healthy range of motions incorporating corresponding movement patterns with the arms and legs. The series is done seated and some standing work. Breathing exercises are taught to synchronize movement and breath.
Gyrokinesis In-Depth: The Full Gyrokinesis Experience including work seated on the stool, mat work and standing work. Includes a deep relaxation. This class begins with a gentle warm up to bring you into your body, followed by the spinal motions series taught in the express class. We then go to the floor to do the mat work which includes abdominal work, hip mobilization and back strengthening. We finish class with a deep relaxation.
Gyrokinesis Fundamentals: In this slower paced class we visit the fundamental principles of the Gyrokinesis method, including the narrowing of the pelvis, the 5th line, and other principles unique to the method. This is helpful if you want have a specific limitation or injury and would like to move slowly or if you would like a more thorough explanation of some of the principles to bring back to the Express or In-Depth classes. This class is open to seniors and those recovering from injury.
Gyrokinesis Pre-Training Course: A 30-hour intensive course to dive deep into your own practice and develop connections and deep internal in your body. This course is the pre-requisite for the Foundation Course and the first step towards becoming certified to teach the Gyrokinesis Method. It’s recommended to have done at least 10 Gyrokinesis classes prior to the Pre-Training Course.
